A Working High

Day 14 of the Blog a Day. First off I just want to say that today has been a sad day in the Arnold Ave House. Matt and Cindy had to put there cat Tea Pot to sleep because she was really old and her kidneys were failing her. I give them both a tremendous amount of credit because they are taking it really well. The good news is that they found out Miss Pot Pot was probably 15 years old and not the 8 or 9 they thought she was. They found her as a alley cat almost 7 years ago. So she lived a good life.

On to the title of the blog. Many people have been fighting to legalize marijuana the last few years, and fighting an uphill battle with 60 years of drug reform in the US rife with lies and half truths. Friday saw the opening of first US Marijuana Cafe. I know what your thinking, don't they have dispensaries in a lot of states now, including California were they are popping up everywhere? Yes, but those are not Cafes. Cafes allow MJ users to smoke or consume their medicine on the premises of the shop. Where as dispensaries do not. Pot Cafes are very popular in Amsterdam and this is the first one to open in the US. The cafe is called The Cannabis Cafe and it is now open for business in Portland. It's a big deal because they are testing the Obama Administrations will to prosecute federally cannabis cafes in America. Seems like more steam is brewing to make pot legal then it is for gays to marry. Sounds like fun, and road trip sounds a lot better then cross Atlantic flight. :p

Idle Hands

So I am on the job hunt still, and things seem to be going okay. I actually am a whole lot more confident in myself then I have been the last 10 years. Working with people who support you and make you feel good about yourself will do that for you. Had another great job interview today and it appears the job is mine for the taking. The question is "Is this something I want to be doing?" and "Will I do well at it?" In fact my interviewer asked those exact questions, and honestly I don't really have a handle on the answers. The good news is that I have some other leads lined up and am taking some advice from my friend Brittany about how to submit for a job. Got some things lined up for tomorrow, a checklist if you will and having a list of things to do always helps me accomplish those things better.

Hosting the Musicpalooza Singers tomorrow night at Anthology SD, the winners from my big SD Fair contest will be performing. Can't wait. It's a chance to see these guys outside of being the contest coordinator and I can actually enjoy myself like a fan. Plus have a few beers and celebrate a satisfactory culmination of 7+ months hard work. Got a lead on some Comic-Con tickets for later this week, so I at least will be going one of the four days. And my roommate gave me a card for a Doctor that prescribes Medical Marijuana. Not sure if I am more thinking about it to get marijuana because I want it, or because I want to have something cool. I'm weird.
