Top 5 San Diego Chargers 2009 Mock Draft

Okay, so I know next to nothing about the draft this year. As opposed to other years when I at least cared to follow the players, I think this year is kind of a bum year. What that means is that all the sizzle will be at the top, but the meat will be later in the draft. Being the Charger fan that I am I am going to make wild picks and see what happens tomorrow. Maybe I will be the next draft guru and get paid cash next year by ESPN.....yeah right. Here is my Chargers mock draft based on needs: (oh and this is in reverse order because this will be by pick)

#1 - First Round Pick 16 - Ziggy Hood DT. I think the Chargers need some push on the D-Line this year with a returning Shawne Merriman to help get our pass rush back in line. And this kids name is cool.

#2 - Third Round Pick 13 - LeSean McCoy RB. Okay so not picking in the second round is really going to hurt, and there is a good chance the Chargers will trade some of their later picks in the 4th for a spot in the second. But as we have seen with LT getting older, the Chargers need depth at Running Back. If this kid is still around, I could see him in the Blue and Gold.

#3 - Fourth Round Pick 13 - Ryan Durand Guard. Well we could always use more lineman. In fact if I ran a team my off season needs would always begin and end with my line. The trenches are where first downs are won and lost in the NFL.

#4 - Fourth Round Pick 33 - Xavier Fulton O-Tackle. Same thing as above, and yet this young man is actually ranked higher in draft status. But this is my draft.

#5 - Fourth round Pick 34 - Jeremy Childs Wide Receiver. Ah heck, its late in the draft already, take a flier on a wide receiver. Plus this kid is from Boise State where they throw a lot.

Top 5 American Idols Season 8 - "It's the Final Countdown!"

Okay so this week on American Idol they finally got down to just 5 contestants. Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds were finally voted off. Honestly at this point it feels like everyone is going through the motions because Ad-Lam, Adam Lambert could take a shit on stage and throw it at the judges to applause. In other words that kid is a lock to be this seasons American Idol. With that in mind, here is how I rank the final 5 for American Idol this season.

#5 - Matt Giraud - This Justin Timberlake wannabe should have gone home last week or even the week before but the judges saved him. Garbage. How can you criticize Lil Rounds for appearing as everyone except herself and let this lame imitation strut each and every week as a poor mans JT.

#4 - Allison Iraheta - This poor kid has the pipes and the chops but the females are the ones that vote on this show and America is just not gonna pick her over their boy toys.

#3 - Kris Allen - This spot is a toss up for me between Danny and Kris, but I think that Kris might wear thin before the last 5 weeks are up.

#2 - Danny Gokey - You made it this far Go Go Gokey. But with the final two coming down to you and Ad-Lam you don't stand a chance in hell. Even if your dead wife votes from beyond the grave. The love Wicked in the afterlife, studies have shown.

#1 - Adam Lambert - And this will be your big winner. Honestly the only person that stands a chance in hell against Adam is Allison and America is not voting for that girl. But I could actually see music careers for this Top 4....yeah your done Matt. Even Lil shows more originality at this point.

Top 5 Movies to look forward to Summer 2009

This one is a quick one. I just want to highlight some of the movies that I am looking forward to this summer. So many good ones to pick from!

#5 - Star Trek - May 8th. Really excited to see what Abrams has done with the franchise and what new directions it will go. I have already read some luke warm reviews, but I think this will be a lot of fun in theaters to see.

#4 - The Hangover - June 5th. In the vein of buddy comedies like Old School and others comes this movie about four guys that go to Vegas, have a blast, and the next day have lost one of their party, cannot remember things that have happened, and have acquired a baby. Sounds awesome with Zac Galifinakis and Ed Helms.

#3 - Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - Okay, so the first movie does not hold up to multiple viewings and it was hard to tell who the good guys were from the bad guys in some scenes, but I am still a child of the 80's and still love Mecha robot action!

#2 - Funny People - July 5th. Seth Rogen, Adam Sandler, Leslie Bibb, a film about comics, and Judd Apatow? I'm there. Sandler plays a stand up comedian who is diagnosed with a fatal disease and Rogen plays the up and coming stand up who takes care of him. Until he finds out he is not going to die and decides to try and win back the love of his life....from Eric Bana.

#1 - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - July 15th. The movie that I have been waiting for since last August will finally come to theaters. Apparntley all the negative reviews were addressed and new scenes were added. I love this series and cannot wait to see Ron and Ginny finally playing Quidditch on the big screen. Something the last movie glossed over for time.

Top 5 Bands with Actors or Actresses

In honor of Billy Bob Thornton being douche bag of the week for his radio interview on Canada's CBC I decided to do a Top 5 Bands with Actors or Actresses. For all intents and purposes this list will skirt bands that have acted and lean more towards actors who sing. And if you have not heard about Billy Bob Thornton being a complete ass you can check out that story here on YAHOO! Little surprise that Willy Nelson has now canceled Billy Bob's Band on the tour. Jerk. At least these guys have never taken themselves too seriously. Maybe.

#5 The Bacon Brothers - Kevin Bacon

#4 Dogstar - Keanu Reeves

#3 30 Seconds to Mars - Jared Leto

#2 Phantom Planet - with Jason Schwartzman

#1 Tenacious D - With Jack Black, more fun then anything else

Top 5 Easter Candy

Okay so I am continually trying to find topics that I can do a Top 5 for. I find that I am never short on opinions, but finding 5 reasons to hate/like something is usually hard for me to come up with. Something near and dear to my heart and stomach is Easter Candy. Here is my Top 5 list of Easter Candy.

#5 - Whopper's Easter Eggs - Why these? I love these things. In fact I may only buy Whopper's once a year, and it's at Easter. Can only have them in small doses, because that Malt flavor gets to you after awhile.

#4 - Classic Chocolate Bunny - Really? It's classic. It has to be on this list. And who does not like a hunk of chocolate shaped like a bunny? Of course you have to start by biting the ears off. ;)

#3 - Cadbury Eggs - This is the original, every other flavor and incarnation is the imitator. And gross. Love these eggs, but if you have noticed they have gotten smaller over the last 10 years. Stop holding Cadbury! On that note, check out this fun game you can play on the Cadbury website with these eggs. Some of it is sick and twisted....bravo.

#2 - Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs - I am a HUGE fan of chocolate covered marshmallows. And no matter what the holiday I find myself buying these things in some form or another. But it all got started with Easter and this box of Marshmallow eggs. My mom use to store them in the fridge because she liked them cold.

#1 - Peeps - Another marshmallow treat. Peeps are like the sun and the moon of Easter candy. They have infused themselves in other holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and St. Patricks Day but the originals were only available around Easter. My old roommate Megan had a way of eating these things. She would open the plastic and let the Peeps go stale for a day before devouring these treats. Me? I like em fresh. And I like to eat the heads first. The candy on this holiday is violent. ;)

Top 5 Racing Movies

Okay so here's the deal, I am a closet fan of the Fast and the Furious movies. Cat's out of the bag now. So when a new movie for the franchise was announced I took my normal stance on all things which is "Wait and See". I never really geek out to much for things, and I usually hold my cynicism back from the world so that I don't come across as an angry man all the time. Basically I live on the fence. I went and saw the new The Fast & Furious movie today and they still got life out of this franchise. I gotta say the second movie was pretty bad, and watching the first one is very dated at this point, but the third installment; Tokyo Drift really brought some new tricks to the same old act. I liked the movie. It was a lot of fun, had some good drama and will probably watch this movie over and over again on Cable over the next few years. So with all that, let's do a Top 5 Racing Movies. Don't like my list? Make your own.

#5 Cannonball Run

#4 The Fast and the Furious (2001)

#3 Talladega Nights

#2 Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

#1 The Fast and Furious (2009)
